Case Study - Imran Studios
Brand Overview:
Imran Studio is a photography studio based in Kuwait; it was initially launched in 1998 and has had significant growth since. The studio provides portrait photography, wedding photography and videography, sports & other event photography.
The problem:
Despite all the success the studio has had, in late 2017, they faced stagnating customer growth, and the business was facing problems in generating new sales; around that time, the company only had three branches spread throughout Kuwait; however, to make profitable sales, they had to review the original business plan they had.
The Solution:
They contacted us in December of 2017 to have a meeting regarding a revised business plan. Upon reviewing the business plan already in play, we noticed that there weren't any advancements in the type of services they offered. They were primarily working on passport photos, family photos and wedding photos. We made a preliminary report for them that highlighted a lot of critical factors that would eventually help them in growing the business to the next level; we advised them in offering video capture services such as video recording wedding ceremonies, school events, public events and also advertisement services for local companies. After studying the photography market in Kuwait, our consultants identified that the product photography for marketing was a small niche with a very high growth rate in the country due to the increase in online businesses.
Since many competitors were already in the market, they had to find new ways to attract customers. We also advised them to offer film productions for the disposable cameras they sold. The studio expanded its catalogue of photography products and accessories. The expansion into sporting cameras and vlogging accessories attracted many young customers. The business has received continued support from Avvale Consulting. It has expanded to 6 studios in Kuwait, a growth rate of 100% over four years.
